Meeting of Academic Networks in Vienna

From 5 December  to 8 December, 2011, the "IAEA Technical Meeting on networking for nuclear education, and standardizing curricula and contents for nuclear subjects" was held at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), in Vienna, Austria.

Among the participants in the meeting, there were representatives from 14 countries, including members of the following networks: African Network for Nuclear Education Science and Technology (AFRA-NEST)Asian Network for Education in Nuclear Technology (ANENT)Red Latinoamericacna para la Educación en Tecnología Nuclear (LANENT)European Nuclear Education Network (ENEN)University Network of Excellence in Nuclear Engineering (UNENE)Nuclear Technology Education Consortium (NTEC), along with the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC).

The meeting aimed at identifying good practices, lessons learned, experiences and resources shared among educational institutions through their networking, as well as at establishing a common framework for the activities of ANENT, LANENT and AFRA-Nest by focusing on common problems and needs and on the identification of areas of mutual interest for future developments.
